Knee pain has many causes
Here are a few of the most common causes and the symptoms they cause. Knee ligament strains: Pain can be in multiple locations of the knee – typically occurring acutely – and involving pain and associated swelling. Knee cartilage tears: The pain is usually on the inner or the outer side of the knee. The pain can be chronic and worsened with twisting or turning of the knee. Can be associated with swelling. Knee arthritis: Pain from the loss of the cartilages in the knee. Pain is in the knee and associated with weight-bearing pain and loss of range of motion.
