Geoffrey Van Flandern, MD
Dr. Geoffrey Van Flandern is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in the care of hip and knee diseases. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he has attended the University of Notre Dame graduating in 1985. He went on to attend the Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, and his orthopedic residency at the Northwestern/McGaw Medical center also in Chicago.
Dr. Van Flandern completed the Otto E. Aufranc Fellowship in Hip and Knee replacement in 1995. Since that time he has specialized in the reconstruction and replacement of hips and knees at the New England Baptist Hospital. He participates as an attending for the Aufranc fellowship and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Tufts University Medical School.
Dr. Van Flandern maintains his place on the cutting edge of techniques in advanced hip and knee replacement and rapid postoperative recovery. His practice primarily focuses on the younger patient as he also performs hip arthroscopy and hip preservation techniques.
For the last ten years, Dr. Van Flandern has been the highest volume surgeon at the New England Baptist Hospital. He recently expanded his practice to the North Atlantic Surgical Suites, a boutique outpatient joint replacement center for advanced hip and knee replacement in the younger and more active patients, located in nearby Salem New Hampshire.
Dr. Van Flandern is a life long athlete and continues to enjoy a very active outdoor existence with hiking, skiing, and even triathlon competition. He has been married for 26 years to his beautiful wife Linette and has been blessed with four loving children. His emphasis is on his family, and after the loss of his second daughter Erin Marie, has learned to treasure them more than ever.
Ms. Morgan is in charge of all scheduling and information for the surgical practice. Kathy has been on the Longwood Orthopedic Team for over 30 years, and she has been with Dr. Van Flandern for more than 15 years. She is in charge of all things about clinical practice.
Mr. Johnson is a fantastically, well-trained Nurse Practitioner. He specializes in hip and knee assessment, recommendations for care, and is an expert in the non-operative care of hip and knee diseases.
Brian spent many years honing his skills in diagnosis and injection. He trained in the application of Plasma Rich Protein (PRP). He sees many of the new consultations and all of Dr. Van Flandern’s post-operative visits and continuing care and prescriptions.
Mr. Nivison is the practice manager for the Longwood Orthopedic location.
He is in charge of operations for the practice and financials. He is an excellent communicator and specializes in claim understanding and explanation.
